What Synapse does
Synapse sits in front of the investigation. It takes data in, makes one usable set from many formats, and routes the result to the place the work requires — InvestiGATE Pro, a dashboard, or another workflow the engagement names.

What it can take in
There is no dependence on one database, one sensor or one format. Connectors are extended for the engagement. Where a source has no documented format, the parser and the transformation are built for that operation. The engine is adapted to the data.
- Intake over APIs, databases, secure file transfer, message queues, streaming feeds, sensors, legacy applications and controlled offline import.
- Structured and unstructured information: spreadsheets, databases, transactions, documents, reports, email and case files.
- Images, video and audio; logs, network records and telemetry; geospatial and time-series data; communications metadata.
- Proprietary, legacy and non-standard formats.

AI inside the customer’s environment
AI runs locally, on hardware the customer controls. Sensitive datasets are not sent to a public generative-AI service, and they are not sent to a processing environment outside the arrangement.
Assistance covers document classification and digitisation, OCR and transcription, translation, entity extraction, clustering and deduplication, anomaly and pattern detection, imagery and video triage, relationship discovery, summarisation of large sets, and a priority order for human examination.
Every output is marked as machine-assisted. It records the model and version, the input, the rules and thresholds, the output and its confidence, the time, the person who reviewed it, and any correction, rejection or override. AI speeds the work. It does not replace the investigator.

Arabic and English
Translation, transcription, OCR and entity extraction are configured for Arabic and English. Arabic-script name variants are handled in entity resolution, so that one person under several spellings remains one entity. Further languages are configured for the engagement.

How it sits with InvestiGATE Pro
Open and commercial sources can be collected at the edge. Nothing sensitive is stored there. Synapse processes inside the customer’s environment. InvestiGATE Pro is where the case, the timeline and the evidential record are worked. The customer’s own classified and confidential holdings are read through the gate on InvestiGATE Pro, under the customer’s rules.
The two products can be discussed together or apart. A conversation about one does not include the other unless the engagement says so.
